DATED AUGUST 12, 1987:

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 6, 1987. for Lorraine H. Boyce, 59, Hamburg, at the Raynor Funeral Home in Glenwood. Rev. Robert Varner, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Falls City, Neb., and Rev. By Lockhard, pastor of the Bible Fellowship Church of Falls City, both officiated at the service. Interment was in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Boyce passed away August 2 at Grape Community Hospital in Hamburg following a short period of failing health.

She was born in Glenwood August 9, 1927, the daughter of B. O. Baldwin and Della Davison Baldwin, and lived in the Glenwood-Emerson area for 25 years before moving in 1952.

She married Ross E. Boyce on December 26, 1945, and his ministry with the Baptist Church took him to numerous churches in Iowa and Nebraska. Mrs. Boyce assisted her husband with his ministry, and they had retired about 18 months ago and moved to Hamburg from Falls City. Mrs. Boyce was a member of the Bible Fellowship Church of Falls City.

Survivors include her husband, Rev. Ross E. Boyce; two daughters: Mrs. Thomas (Linda) Calnan of Chenango Forks, New York, and Christine Moore of Council Bluffs; two brothers: Virgil F. Baldwin of Escondido, Cal., and Austin E. Baldwin of Kadoka, S. Dak.; two sisters: Catherine A. Sorensen of Laguna Niguel, Cal., and Shirley Perry of Redlands, Cal.; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Harry Braman, Robert Taft, Dale Allensworth, George Miller, Matthew Paul and Earl Krecklow. Music was provided by Virginia Christensen and Phyllis Fisher, vocalists, and Ardis Dusenberry, organist. Vocal selections were “My Savior Alone” and “Room at the Cross.”
