DATED WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 17, 1997Ardis Nadine Pace, 77, of Glenwood died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 1997, at her residence in rural Glenwood. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 1997, at Peterson Mortuary. The tribute by family members. Cremation followed the funeral service.
Mrs. Pace was born Sept. 2, 1920, in Hillsdale to John and Clara (Andrew) Slaughter. She attended Hillsdale Country School and Glenwood Sr. High School. She self taught painting, poetry, musical instruments and mastering the English language through studying the dictionary, reading and writing.
She was married in Glenwood to Lawrence Pace in 1938.
Mrs. Pace was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers, Drayton and Theron Slaughter. Survivors include four sons, Jon Pace of Arkansas, Lawrence Pace II of Griswold, Theron Pace of Colorado, and Brett Pace of Emerson; three daughters, Kitty Hadden of Colorado and Glenwood, Kathy Caruso of Omaha and Christine Pace of Omaha; two sisters, Janice Hunt and Virginia Jensen, both of Glenwood; 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials are suggested to the Glenwood Public Library.
