GLENWOOD OPINION-TRIBUNE
DATED JUNE 5, 1974:

Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, at Peterson Mortuary for Mrs. Ruby G. Slaughter, 59, who died May 31 in Co. Bluffs.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Powles, Mrs. Slaughter was born July 7, 1914, in Bartlett. She attended school in Pacific Junction and at Peru State Teacher’s College. After graduation she taught in the Mills County rural school system.

She was united in marriage to Drayton Slaughter on may 29, 1938. To this union were born two sons.

A member of Hillsdale Methodist Church, Mrs. Slaughter was active in the United Methodist Women, 4-H, B. P. W. and other community activities.

Survivors include her husband, her sons, John and Roger, her parents, two sisters, Flossie and Inez
Powles of Pacific Junction, and three grandchildren.

Officiating at the funeral services were the Rev. E. LeRoy Pullman and the Rev. Leon Wallace. Interment was in he Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Marvin Boyce was organist.

Pallbearers were Walter Stille, Wayne Hilton, Peter Lorenzo, Ben Jackson, Don Edwards and George Wright.

In charge of flowers were Mmes. Gene Rubenking, Wayne Hilton, Peter Lorenzo, Don Edwards, Fred Baker and Walter Stille.
