DATED JANUARY 7, 1970:

Theron Roderick (Pete) Slaughter was born in Hillsdale May 19, 1918 to Clara Vida and John E. Slaughter, the fourth child in the family. His mother died at an early age.

After graduation from Glenwood High School, he went to Illinois for employment. Later he worked for Austin Wester for 30 years and was a foreman.

In August he underwent major surgery. He passed away the day before Christmas.

His survivors are his wife, Lois; daughter, Marilyn; three sons; Kenneth, Rodney and Steven; brother, Drayton; and three sisters: Janice Hunt, Virginia Jensen and Ardis Pace all of Glenwood.

The funeral was Saturday in Aurora with burial in Lincoln Memorial Park.
