Paul H. “Butch” Cheyney, 50, of Glenwood died May 8, 1993, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services were Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment was at Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Richard Dunn and Rev. Victor Engelmann officiating.

Mr. Cheyney was born Oct. 1, 1942, to Paul Hamilton and Anne Beman Cheyney. He was an insurance agent in Glenwood for several years, operating the Cheyney Insurance company. He married Martha Buffington Aug. 20, 1967, in Glenwood. Mr. Cheyney was a member of several community organizations, including the Glenwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Glenwood Rotary Club, Oddfellows, Model Railroaders Club, American Cut Glass Association, Drake University Parents Board and the Glenwood-Mills County Economic Development Foundation. He as a charter member of the American Philanthropist Association and the National Stamp Collectors Association. At the time of his death, he was serving on the Board of Trustees of Grace United Methodist Church.

Mr. Cheyney was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jane Kercheval. Survivors are his wife, Martha; daughters, Bethany Anne and Lea Suzanne of Glenwood; sister, Karen Cheyney of Glenwood; mother-in-law, Barbara Buffington of Glenwood; and brother-in-law, Dr. M. L. Kercheval of Grand Junction, Colo.
