Charles Daniel Hunt, son of William and Sarah Hunt, was born Oct. 6, 1883, on a farm in Mills County near Silver City, Iowa, and lived in the county until his death June 26, 1963, at a Council Bluffs hospital after suffering complications from a broken leg received May 8.

Charles married Louise Mae Gardner, March 14, 1907. She preceded him in death eight months ago.

To this union were born four children who survive. They are: William Bazil, Concord, Calif., Richard Eugene, Santa Clara Calif., Verla Maxine Gray, Council Bluffs, and Loran Marie Willey, Glenwood. Other survivors include five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was ordained into the priesthood of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1933. He served as pastor of the Glenwood church for 24 years.

He was employed 27 years as a carpenter maintenance man at Glenwood State school. He was a member of the Glenwood city council 12 years.

Services were held June 29 at 2 p.m. from the Raynor-Hamilton Funeral Chapel with Elder Charles F. Putnam officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Dean Dusenberry and Neil McPherron.

Flower ladies were Mrs. Harold Shriver, Mrs. Walter Schoening, Mrs. Ruby Jones and Mrs. Otto Seipold. Casket bearers were Darold Rhode, George Webb, Duane LeFever, Harold Shriver, Clayton Hedrick and Walter Schoening.

Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery.
