Frank Hunter, 74, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Sunday morning. A paper boy discovered the body on the back porch of the Hunter home in Pacific Junction.

Mr. Hunter had been in poor health during the past few months. He had been a resident of Pacific Junction all of his life.

Two sons, Jerry and Jack, live in Pacific Junction. The other sons are Bennie of Oklahoma City, Harry of Council Bluffs, and Jay who is serving with the U.S. Navy. Daughters of Mr. Hunter are Mrs. Leonard Martin of Finland, Minn., and Mrs. Bonnie Maccaulley of Creston.

Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Peterson Mortuary in Glenwood.

Frank Hunter was born January 13, 1895 in Pacific Junction, Ia., the son of Andrew and Effie Hunter. He attended Wright School and Pacific Junction School. On November 17, 1915 in Glenwood, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Mary Catherine Piatt, and to this union were born 13 children. His wife and 6 children preceded him in death. For many years he was a railroad laborer in the store department, and as a hobby he very much enjoyed making windmills.

Surviving are two daughters; Bonnie McCaulley of Creston, Ia. and Leonda Martin of Finland, Minn., five sons; Bennie of Oklahoma City, Okla., Harry of Council Bluffs, Jack and Jerry of Pacific Junction and Jay with the U. S. Navy in San Diego, Calif., 26 grandchildren, one brother; Charlie Hunter of Anderson, Ia. and two sisters; Florence Harris of Glenwood and Goldie Story of Council Bluffs.
