Glenwood Opinion Tribune dated February 2, 1956:

Funeral services were conducted Friday, Jan. 27th at 2 p.m. in Pilgrim Holiness Church in Pacific Junction or Mrs. Frank Hunter, who died Tuesday, Jan. 24th at Council Bluffs. The Rev. George Durkee officiated.

Music was by Mrs. Alex Christiansen and Mrs. Marvin Petersen. Mrs. H. L. Boquette was usher. Flower bearers were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Fisher and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Fisher.

Casket bearers were Howard Kates, Lorren Fisher, William Mullica, Walter Green, Gerald Nuss and George Pomeroy. Burial was in Martin’s Chapel Cemetery north of Pacific Junction.

Mary Catherine Piatt, daughter of Benjamin and Delilah Piatt, was born in Plattsmouth, Nebr. on October 15, 1900. The family moved to Mills County, Iowa when she was about four years old and she remained in the Pacific Junction community the rest of her life.

She was united in marriage to Frank Hunter on November 17, 1915. Thirteen children were born to them. Five children, one son and four daughters, preceded their mother in death.

Mrs. Hunter was a good wife and a wonderful mother, devoting her life to her family and home. She was a member of Pacific Junction Pilgrim Holiness Church.

For the past three weeks she had been in the Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs. It was there she died, at the age of 55 years, three months and nine days.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Frank; her step-father, George Green, of Pacific Junction; five sons, Bennie Dale Hunter of Oklahoma City, Okla., Harry Charles Sr. of Council Bluffs, Jackie LaVern Sr., Jerry Lee and Jay Earl, all of Pacific Junction; three daughters, Mrs. Bonnie B. Evans and Mrs. Minnie B. Burt, both of Pacific Junction. and Mrs. Arlene Martin of Junction City, Kans.; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Emmett Piatt of Glenwood, and one half-brother, William Green; three sisters, Mrs. Lula Fisher of Pacific Junction, Ms. Daisy Peterson of Omaha, Nebr., and Mrs. Amy Duffey of Modesto, Calif. Besides these relatives, there are a host of friends and neighbors.
