From the Opinion Tribune dated 03-23-1977:

Funeral services for Mrs. Estella Boyce, 78, Council Bluffs, were held March 18 at the Raynor, Lett and Kent Funeral Home. The former Glenwood resident died march 15 at a Council Bluffs hospital. She had been living at the Indian Hills Nursing Home.

She was born December 22, 1898 in Council Bluffs, the daughter of Lemuel and Sara Jane Benedict.

On April 3, 1920, she was united in marriage to Elmer R. Boyce of rural Glenwood. To this union were born two children, a son, Ross and a daughter, Betty. Most of their married life was spent on a farm north of Glenwood in the West Oak Community.

Mrs. Boyce worked at various occupations in Glenwood after the death of her husband in July of 1946.

After a serious illness in 1962, she moved to the Council Bluffs area to be near her children.

Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Robert Street.

Hymns used wre "Whispering Hope" and "How Great Thou Art".

Flower bearers were Mrs. Dale Allensworth, Mrs. Robert Beardsley, Mrs. Howard McKern and Mrs. George Miller.

Casket bearers were Duane Benedict, Ferdinand Boyce, Earl Krecklow, Orville Krecklow, Ralph Krecklow and George Miller.

Interment was held at the Glenwood Cemetery.
