From the Glenwood Opinion Tribune dated 10-27-1978:

Services were Tuesday for Freddie Ray Boyce, 79, Malvern, who died Sunday at an Omaha, Neb. hospital.

He was born July 19, 1899 to Verna William and Daisie Coons Boyce at Emerson.

On Dec. 12, 1933, he was married to Mabel Spencer at Rockport, Mo.

Mr. Boyce was a retired farmer and also did mason work.

Services were Tuesday at the Mansfield-Hertz Funeral Home, Malvern, with the Rev. Charles E. Cowell Jr. officiating.

Music was provided by Merrill Womach, soloist. Mrs. Harold Kahl was in charge of the registry book.

Burial was in the Malvern Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Walter Klindt Jr., Harold Kahl, Robert J. Harms, Truman Chambers, William Jens Jr. and Richard Armstrong.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel; one son, Harry, of Deshler, Neb.; one daughter, Sally Reafleng, of Council Bluffs; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and two sisters, Grace Wing, of Lake Ozark, Mo., and Ruth Garner, of Clarinda.
