Held High Carnival

The "Glenwood Merchants Carnival" which was held at the Armory Friday and Saturday nights was quite a success furnishing something new and unique in the amusement line. Some 50 young ladies represented in various ways Glenwood business men. It was given under the auspices of the Congressional Church and by way of the origination of an idea of Mr. Graves.
Each young lady appeared on the stage preceded by a banner advertising the name of the business that she represented, wearing clothing indicating the business. A beautiful souvenir spoon was awarded by Miss Gussie Bothyshell(?)for the most original idea and
appropriate design. She represented the Cup/on(?) Broom factory.Following is a list of the businesses and the ladies representing them.

The OPINION- Miss Anna Beckman.
O.L. Templeton- Sallie Barnard.
Buffington's Bank- Anna Bushnell.
John Carter's Meat Market- Lela Crowder.
W.F. Laraway- Jene Gigray.
Miss Mollie Lynn was decorated with windmills as typical of her father's business.
