January 26, 1906Invited to Housewarming—Proved to be a Wedding
Will Wortz and Miss Grace Mullholland, two of Malvern’s prominent young people, were married after a novel fashion Wednesday night.
The groom had prepared and furnished a home, as the couple (just to depart from the ordinary) invited their relatives and friends to a pre-nuptial house-warming on Wednesday night—saying nothing about a wedding.
A fine supper was served and leaving time was close at hand when Rev. Kiser, the Presbyterian pastor, suddenly appeared on the scene about 10 o’clock.
The ceremony quickly followed much to the surprise of the assembled guests.
