Know all men by these Presents: That I, W.J.C. Smith of Silver Creek Township, Mills County, Iowa, being of sound mind and memory and in good bodily health do make this my last will and testament thereby revoking any and all former wills by me before made.

After the payment of all my just debts and funeral charges, I give and bequeath and devise as follows:

One..I give, bequeath and devise to my wife, Rozene Z. Smith the South ½ of the North east quarter of Section Twenty (20) Township Seventy-two (72) Range Forty-one (41) West of the 5 P.M. in Mills County, Iowa, with all the books, pictures and furniture and all other personal property including money and credits that I may now own, or may own at my death; to have and to hold the Real Estate during her natural life; To have and hold the said personal property as absolute owner, and to dispose of same as she desires.

Two..After the death of my wife Rozene Z. Smith, the Real Estate above mentioned, I give and bequeath and devise among my four children, namely, Bernice H. Bartlett; Daisy R. Kline; Earnest Guy Smith and Jepthat Gay Smith, said real estate to be equally divided by referees appointed by the Court, according to the value thereof. Said real estate is to be equitably divided and border on the Public Highway.

Three…If at the time of my wife's death, either or all of my children above named be dead, the aforesaid real estate shall be inherited by their issue if there be such. If there be no issue by said deceased child or children, the interest that would have been inherited by said child or children shall be inherited equally by the children living.

I hereby constitute and appoint Rozene Z. Smith of Silver Creek Township, Mills County, Iowa as executor and trustee of this my last will and testament and hereby request that she may be exempt from giving any surety or sureties on her bond as executor or trustee.

In testimony whereof I hereunto set my hand and in the presence of two witnesses named below declare this to be my last will and testament this 23rd of February A.D. 1893. Signed..W.J.C. Smith.
