Know all men by these presents that Columbus Chase of Mills County and State of Iowa, being of sound mind and while in full possession of all my mental faculties and being desirous of arranging my business affairs as to me shall seem right and proper, do make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking canceling and destroying all former wills by me made; that is to say, after my death and respectable burial, and the full and final payments of all of my lawful debts, I give, will and bequeath all of the rest and residue of all my property of every kind and character, both real and personal and wherever the same may be situated or located, to my beloved wife, Lulu Chase absolutely during the period of her natural life only; with this condition, that is, if my said wife should ever remarry, then and in that event I desire and will, that she shall take only the share as allowed her by law. But should she remain my widow, I desire and will that she shall take and enjoy the full possession, use, rents and profits from my said property so long as she shall live. Then at her death I desire and will that my said property then shall go to my surviving children, share and share alike.

I hereby appoint my said wife Lulu Chase, Executrix of this my last will and ask that she be appointed without bond. Dated 22nd day of April, 1915 Signed…Columbus Chase

The foregoing will was by the testator signed in our presence and we at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have signed our names thereto as witnesses.
