I, Hezekiah Buffington being of sound mind hereby make my last Will and Testament to my dearly beloved wife Elizabeth Buffington after my just debts are paid I give and bequeath all my personal property of every description including horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, grain wagons, farming utencils (sic), household furniture. The above is given in fee simple. And the following real estate to wit: all of the SW fourth of the South East fourth of Section Twenty Three (23), Township No. 73 North of Range 43 West (Except ten acres off of the NW corner and eight acres off of the North side of the North West fourth of the North East fourth of Sec. 26 Township No. 73, N. of R 43 W. And nine acres off of West end of the SE ¼ Sec. 23 Township No. 73 N of R 43 W. I will that my wife have for her use and benefit for a home during the whole of her natural life and if my aforesaid wife should desire to change her residence I will that she sell the aforesaid tract of land and invest the proceeds in a homestead when she may desire. And at her decease I will that the aforesaid purchased Homestead be divided equally between my heirs. And I further will that my Executor think it best that they sell the following tract of my real estate, to wit: The North half of the NW fractional fourth of Section No. 4 in Township No. 72 N. of R 43 W. The remainder of my Real Estate is to remain the same as if there had been no will. And whereas I sold to Catharine Buffington and Nancy Buffington the following described tract of land and made to them a Warranty Deed, to wit: E. half of the SW fourth of ___ (5) in Township No. 73 N. of R 42 W. Now should the title to the said tract of land fail and should they sustain loss then I will that cash loss be made up to them out of the proceeds of my real estate that is first sold. And I hereby appoint my aforesaid wife my Executor and it is my will that she be not required to give bond or have the property appraised. Signed H. Buffington
