I, Catharine B. Briggs, widow, of Mills County, Iowa, being of sound mind and memory, do make this my last will and testament, as follows:
I direct that my just debts be first paid.
I give and bequeath Fifty Dollars to the First Congregational Church, of Glenwood, Iowa.
I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter, Ida J. Briggs, all the personal property and real estate of which I shall die possessed or seized, wheresoever situated, subject to said gift of the church. The reason why I give and bequeath all my property to said daughter, is that she is unmarried and my other daughters are married and have some one to provide for them. I hereby revoke any former will which I may have made.
I appoint my daughter Ida J. Briggs my executrix under this will and request that she may act without giving bond.
Witness my hand this 4th day of September, 1902…Signed Catharine B. Briggs
At the request of the above testatrix, we sign our respective names as attesting witnesses, in her presence of each other.
