This is the last will and testament of me, Nancy J. Pettinger, wife of Richard Pettinger of the County of Mills, State of Iowa.
I give, devise and bequeath to my only daughter, Amy G. Pettinger, now an infant of the age of six years, all my Real Estate to wit: The undivided one-half of the North East quarter of Section Twenty three in Township Seventy two N. of Range Forty two West in Mills County, Iowa to be hers and her childrens absolutely, with this proviso, however, that if my said daughter, Amy G. should die without issue then the undivided two-thirds of the same shall belong to Mary E. Krahl, Ada M, David A., James and Patinella Carter, my brothers and sisters in equal proportion and the other undivided
one third to the Presiding Elder and the Preacher in charge of the M. E. Church in Glenwood to be by them expended ___
moiety for the benefit of the Church proper and the other moiety for the purpose of asssting in the preparation of such worthy poor person or persons for the ministry as they in their own discretion may select, then bequests and the proviso aforesaid being subject to the use of my husband Richard Pettinger, during his life, provided he should survive my said daughter.And I constitute my husband guardian of my daughters aforesaid land and request that he use the rens and profits for the education and support of Amy.
