EDWARD B. SCOGGAN
I, Edward B. Scoggan of Macedonia, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, being aare of the uncertainty of life but being of sound and disposing mind make, publish and declare this for and to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
1. It is my will and I direct that my just debts, including expenses of last illness and funeral and all charges against my estate be paid out of my personal estate.
2. It is my will and I give, grant and devise and bequeath to my beloved wife Almida L. Scoggan all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate whether real, personal or mixed and wherever located, whether it be necessary then in my possession or property coming to me by inheritance or otherwise. To have use, manage and control during her natural life. It being my intention to give my said beloved wife power to control, sell and invest the proceeds. Sell again and re-invest my entire estate. She to have absolutely all the rents and profits of my said estate and also the right to use any of the said estate that in her judgment is necessary for the proper support of herself and her minor children for the education of our children. Having full confidence in her judgment it is my will and desire to leave this entirely in her control.
3. It is my will that at the death of my said beloved wife that all of my estate then remaining after all her just debts and funeral expenses are paid be at once divided among our living children share and share alike.
4. It is my will and I name, nominate and appoint my beloved wife Almida L. Scoggan sole executor of this my last will nd testament; authorizing her to enter upon and discharge said trust without giving any bond. At her death the Probate Court of the County wherein she dies shall have authority to appoint someone to distribute the remainder of the estate among our living children.
