First - I direct that all my lawful debts, the expenses of my last sickness and burial and of the administration of my estate be first paid, and also that I hereby authorize my executor to purchase and erect a suitable monument on my lot in the Glenwood Cemetery, where I am to be intered, showing that said lot is the last resting place of myself, Sarah Wells, and my husband, Henry Wells, and that said monument shall not cost less than $100.00.

Second - I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Hattie A. Wells, one feather bed.

Third - I give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Mary E. Wells, all the rest and residue of the property of which I may die seized, of every kind and character.

Fourth - My other children and grand children, to-wit: (children) Chester H. Wells, Henry Wells, George T. Wells, Obiaham Wells, Albert Wells and Charles Wells, Hattie A. Wells, Susannah Cosner and Sarah Wilcox: (grand children) Edward Rains, Benjamin Rains, and Florence Rains: I have purposely left these parties out, and it is my intention that they shall have no part of my estate, except that my daughter Hattie A. And I hereby nominate my daughter Hattie A. Wells to be the executrix of this my last will and testament, and I ask that she perform these services without compensation, and request that my said executrix shall not be required to furnish bond or security for the faithful performance of her duty.

Signed: Sarah Wells
