WILL OF JOHN HENRY McCLAIN
Mills County Iowa Will, Book 4, page 169I, John Henry McClain, of Perry County, State of Washington, being of sound mind and disposing memory, do hereby make, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament.
First..I direct that upon my death my body shall be decently buried, and that all my debts shall be paid as soon as possible.
Second..I give, devise, and bequeath unto each of my beloved children, Frances Marion McClain, Alexander Murry McClain, and John Arthur McClain, the sum of Five Dollars.
Third..I give, devise, and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Anna Mary McClain, all the remains of my property, both real and personal, wheresoever the same may be located.
Fourth..I hereby appoint my said wife Executrix of this my last will and testament, and I direct that she shall not be required to give a bond on any bond whatsoever as security for the faithful performance of her duty as such officer; And I further direct that she shall be permitted to perform all the duties of her said office without the intervention of the Superior Court or any other Court other than shall be absolutely required under the laws which govern the disposition of similar estates.
Dated at Kettle Falls, Stevens County, State of Washington, this eleventh day of October, 1912.

The foregoing instrument, consisting of this page only, was, at the date thereof, by John Henry McClain, the maker thereof, signed in our presence, and in the presence of each of us, and at the time of his subscribing said instrument he declared that it was his will, and at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other, we have subscribed our names at witnesses thereto.
