WILL OF JANE BENEDICT
I, Jane Benedict of Mills County Iowa, do hereby make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament, hereby revoking any and all wills by me heretofore made.
The real estate I now hold, was a gift to me by my late Uncle Alex M. Bowen. I direct that my husband, Horace Benedict, shall have the use, rents and benefits of the said land or of any other lands of which I may be possessed at the time of my decease, so long as he may live, provided he does not remarry; in that event or at the time of his death, the said real estate shall at once be divided equally between my daughter Daisy A., my son Harry H., and my grandson Paul W. Richardson.
My husand shall not mortgage or otherwise encumber the said land. The personal property assessed to me, was purchased with money bequeathed to me by my late Uncle Alex M. Bowen; my husband is to have the use and benefit of same, and that remaining at his death it so be divided equally between my children and grand child named above.
I hereby appoint Walter G. Bowen as executor of this my last will.
Witness my hand this 12th day of June 1917. Signed Jane Benedict
Signed sealed published and declared by the testator, Jane Benedict, as and for her last will and testament, in the presence of us, who at her request and in her presence and in the presence of each other, have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses.
