WILL OF WILLIAM JAMES WATSON (will filed in Mills County)
I, William James Watson, of the towns of Villisca, Montgomery County and State of Iowa, being
of sound mind and memory, and understanding, do make my last will and testament, in manner
and form following.I, William James Watson, give and bequeath to my wife Alice, all my household
goods-furniture-library and all the rest of my personal property - after paying from the same all
my debts and funeral expenses.I will and bequeath all of my personal property to my wife Alice, to be hers absolutely.
I also will and bequeath all real estate to my wife Alice, to hold and possess till her death. The
income therefrom to be hers. There shall not be placed on said real estate any mortgage, at
any time. But if it is deemed wise, by the executors of the estate - the property may be sold
and the proceeds be invested in 1st mortgages on un-encumbered real estate. The income
therefrom belonging to my wife Alice to be used for her own comfort and pleasure as she may
wish, as long as she lives. At her death the above said estate - either real or mortgages - shall
be divided, share and share alike between our children Emma Marie, Joseph Charles, Alice
and Elizabeth Alice.And it is my express desire that the above named children shall respect this my last will and
testament.I appoint my wife Alice, and son Joseph Charles joint executors of this my last will and
testament to serve without bonds.In testimony whereof, I hereunto set my hand and seal, and publish and decree this to be my
last will and testament; in the presence of the witnesses named below, this 21st day of August
in the year of our Lord, One Thousand Nine hundred and Twelve.....Signed W. J. WatsonSigned, sealed, delivered and published by the said William James Watson, as, and for, his
