WILL OF GEORGE HARGAN
White Cloud, Mills County Iowa. Know all men by these present that I, George Hargan, of the
County of Mills and State of Iowa, being in good health and sane mind do this day, it being the
29th day of April 1861make my last will and testament as follows: I will to my wife, Rachel
Hargan for her affection and kindness she has bestowed upon me, all my estate, both
personal and real during her natural life and then it is to be divided equal between my lawful
heirs with the exception of my grandson, William Hargan to whom I will ten dollars.Signed: George Hargan

To the Probate Judge of Mills County Iowa....This Indenture witnesseth that I, Rachel Hargan,
wife of George Hargan, Deceased, do hereby relinquish all my right, benefit and interest to be
conferred upon me by the conditions of a certain will now pending in the Probate Court of said
County and said instrument being the last will and testament of the above named George
Hargan, Deceased, and in lieu thereof claim only my legal right of dower in this my deceased
husband's estate.
Signed the fifteenth day of February, 1862....Rachel X HarganWe whose names appear in the margin, declare that we are disinterested in the above will and
estate and after consultation with the above named Rachel Hargan, do verily believe that the
relinquishment and claim so set forth to be her voluntary act and that (no) undue influence has
been brought to bear in the accomplishment of the same. In testimony whereof we do hereto
subscribe our names this fifteenth day of February A.D. 1862
