WILL OF DAVID DUNCAN
I, David Duncan, of the town of Malvern, County of Mills and State of Iowa, being of sound
mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner as
follows:First...I direct that from my personal property shall be paid all funeral expenses and doctor
bills.Second...I give and bequeath to my daughter, Frankie Ramsey Duncan, my residence
consisting of lots One Hundred and Fifty, One Hundred and Fifty One and One Hundred and
Fifty Two in Strahans Addition to the Town of Malvern, County of Mills and State of Iowa, with
all improvements thereon and household furniture therein, except as hereinafter directed, the
said Frankie Ramsey Duncan to have full control of said property and to have all proceeds
therefrom as long as she retains possession thereof.Third...If the said real estate should at any time pass from the possession of the said Frankie
Ramsey Duncan, then in that case the said Frankie Ramsey Duncan shall pay to my daughter,
Jessie Thompson Skadan, the sum of Two Hundred Dollars.Fourth...Should the said Frankie Ramsey Duncan die, being unmarried, the said real estate if
still in her possession shall be equally divided between the said Jessie Thompson Skadan and
Florence D. Hunter.Fifth...Should the said Frankie Ramsey Duncan enter the bonds of matrimony and die without
issue, her husband surviving her, the said husband shall receive one third of said real estate,
and the remaining two thirds to be equally divided between the said Jessie Thompson Skadan
and Florence D. Hunter.Lastly I do appoint Charles E. Holmes to be executor of this my last will and testament, hereby
revoking all former wills by me made.In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this sixth day of October in the year
of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Six.
