LAST WILL OF WILLIAM GEORGE WHITE
I, William George White of Mills County, Iowa, being of sound and disposing mind and memory
do hereby make, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament.1...I direct that my just debts and expenses of last sicknesss and funeral be first paid out of my
estate.2...To my beloved wife, Alice E. White, for her life use, I give all of my property of every kind,
name or nature, and authorize her to dispose of so much thereof at any time as may be
necessary to provide for her care and comfort.3...At her death I give and bequeath all of my property that shall not have been needed for the
care and comfort of my wife and so used by her, to my five children as follows:I am surety on a note at Lamb's Bank for my son Byron in the sum of $1,000. This note I
expect to take up and give to my daughter Elsie Zimmer. I sold to my sons T.W. and E.A.
White of the property of my son George Everett White about $1900 each and feel obligated to
see that the notes which each gave for said property shall be paid to him. And in case my sons
T. W. and E. A. have not paid each the note he so owns to George Everett by the time of the
distribution of my estate I direct that sufficient shall be withheld from both or either and paid
over to George Everett to make the balance that may be due from both or either to him before
final distribution. I do not intend hereby to require either of my sons T. W. or E. A. to become
surety for the other in this transaction. I mean too that sufficient of the share that will be
coming to my son Byron shall be deducted to pay over to my daughter Elsie whatever I have
had to pay to take up the Lamb note above mentioned. If my sons T. W. and E. A. have paid
their notes to George Everett before such distribution or either has done so by such time, then
both or each one as has so paid shall share equally in my estate. If before such distribution my
son Byron shall have paid to my daughter Elsie the Lamb note then he shall share equally in
the final distribution of my estate. It is my intention to count the Lamb note as a part of my
estate and to give the same to my daughter Elsie. It is my intention to provide that my son
George Everett shall be paid out of my estate if necessary from what would otherwise go to
my sons, T. W. and E. A. sufficient to compensate him for the property sold by me for him to
said sons. With these exceptions and explanation I direct that my property remaining for final
distribution after the death of my wife or on final distribution shall be divided share and share
alike among my five children.I hereby appoint my wife as my sole executrix and direct that she be not required to give bond
for such purpose. In Witness hereof I do subscribe my name at Glenwood, Iowa, this 21st day of June 1922.
Signed...William George WhiteWe the undersigned do hereby certify that we saw William George White sign his name to the
foregoing instrument which he at the time declared to be his last will and that we at his request
and in his presence and in the presence of each other have signed the same as witnesses
thereto.
