Seeking info/data on Slovaks who evidently immigrated to Marshall County/Marshalltown in 1880s. My paternal great-grandparents came separately to Iowa around 1882, and their first child was apparently born in/around Marshalltown in 1886.

I do know that the family did live in Iowa, have only the draft card info on birth place from that first child, their son, as a clue.

My family moved on to Streator, Illinois, which had a large Slovak population.

I am seeking info on where within the county Slovaks fresh from the old country would have settled. Anyone researching this ethnic group? Are the Roman Catholic diocese records accessible?
