LAUREL.

Oct. 17.--Mrs. Anna Bloom, wife of J. W. Bloom, died at her home near Laurel, on Thursday, October 10. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Evangelical church of which the deceased was a member conducted by Rev. W. H. Scott of Marshalltown, assisted by Rev. Beckmann, pastor of the church. Mrs. Bloom was 24 years of age, and leaves besides her husband, one son about 4 years old. The funeral was largely attended, fully one-half of the people present being unable to gain admission to the church. John Reifschneider, a brother of the deceased, who for some time past has been in Wyoming, arrived here just after the close of the funeral.
