MRS. SERENA HAREM DIES IN HER 72ND YEAR

Mrs. Serena A. Harem, 71, of the Stavanger community, died at St. Thomas Mercy hospital early Wednesday where she a been a patient since July 21. She had been in failing health for the last year. Mrs. Harem was born Feb. 15, 1879, in England, the daughter of Thomas and Anna Williamson. When she was 12 she and her mother came to the United States to the Stavanger neighborhood, where she grew to womanhood. Mrs. Harem has been a resident of the community since that time. In 1898 she married Ed Harem, who survives. Ten children were born, six sons and four daughters, Tilman, Alfred, Mrs. Glen Beetner, Mrs. G. S. Devig and Mrs. Wilbert Sawyer all of this community, Mrs. Robert Nodurft of Melbourne, Henry and Ernest of Minneapolis, Omer of Lamoille, Minn., and Albert of Bow, Wash. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A prayer service will be at the Estel funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday in charge of the Rev. Lewis D. Savage, of LeGrand. Further services will be at the Stavanger meeting house. Burial will be in the Stavanger cemetery.
