ED HAREM, 82, TO BE BURIED NEXT TUESDAY

Ed Harem, 82, of the Dunbar neighborhood died Friday evening in a Toledo nursing home where he had been a patient for the last year and a half. He was born in Sovde, Norway March 1, 1870 the son of Thormond and Gurine Harem and came to America settling in Palo Alto County. Two years later he came to the Dunbar community. ON FEB. 15, 1898 he was married to Serena Ann Williamson and the couple farmed in the LeGrand and Dunbar communities until retiring in 1934 when he moved to Dunbar. Mrs. Harem died Aug. 9, 1950. Also preceding him in death were three sisters. SURVIVING ARE 10 children, Tilman and Alfred Harem, Mrs. G. S. Devig and Mrs. Wilbert Sawyer all of Marshalltown, Mrs. Glen Boetner of Gilman, Mrs. R. L. Nodruft of Melbourne, Omer of LaMoille, Minn., Ernest and Henry of Minneapolis, and Albert Harem of Oak Harbor, Wash. Also surviving are 32 grandchildren and five great grandchildren along with four sisters and a brother, Mrs. Thea Iverson of this city, Mrs. Christine Olson, Mrs. Nellie Olson and Mrs. Frank Bruce, all of Dunbar and John Harem of Independence, Ore. A prayer service will be at the Estel Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Tuesday and at the Stavanger Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Stavanger Cemetery.
