February 6, 1915 - July 21, 2014

Georgiana Rudison, 99, of Marshalltown, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Villa Del Sol Nursing Home in Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Georgiana and her family. Georgiana Lavendar Rudison was born February 6, 1915 in Eutaw, Alabama, to Reuben Lavender and Clara Straight. Georgiana was a resident of Marshalltown, Iowa, since 1917 and educated in Marshalltown schools. She was united in matrimony to Percy Clinton Rudison in 1930. From this union, they had six children (five sons and one daughter). Georgiana was a loving homemaker and an active member of the Church of God in Christ and her community. She was an avid bird watcher, a seamstress; and she loved to draw, play the piano, and read the Bible. Georgiana went home to the Lord on Monday, July 21, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons (Percy, Jr., James, and Clair); brothers, Daniel Webster, Larry Randolph, and Robert Lavender; sister, Lydia Long; and grandson, Pierre Rudison. Georgiana is survived by her daughter JoAnn C. Jackson; sons, Donald L. Rudison and Allan R. Rudison; sisters, Lucille Loman and Lela Lavender; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.
