Percy Clinton Rudison, Jr.

Born in Marshalltown, Iowa on Aug. 25, 1930
Departed on Sep. 2, 2006 and resided in Austin, TX.

Mr. Percy C. “Rudy” Rudison, Jr. was born in Marshalltown, Iowa, August 25, 1930 to Percy C. Rudison, Sr. and Georgianna Lavender-Rudison. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1948 at Marshalltown, Iowa. In 1958, he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education from the University of the Philippines. He also obtained his Master of Arts Degree in Physical Education in 1968 from George Williams College and received his Massage Therapy License on March 12, 1986. He joined the United States Air Force on June 30, 1949. During his tour of duty in Vietnam, he received an Air Force Commendation Medal for redesigning the Air Force Forward Air Control/Air-to-Ground Vehicle for Vietnam activity. After serving 22 years, he retired on July 1, 1971 as Master Sergeant. Rudy and Rosario were united in holy matrimony on May 25, 1953 in Pampanga, Angeles City, Philippines. To this union, five children were born. Rudy was known as a very caring, giving and loving father, husband, and friend. He spoke the truth and unselfishly helped those in need. His greatest contribution to society is that not only was he physically fit himself, he also practiced what he preached and encouraged others to follow his example. In spite of all his community involvement, he was never too busy to help others. He was a unique individual who got personally involved in encouraging others to enrich and maintain high standards of physical fitness. He was also a consistent source of information concerning sports and fitness activities. Rudy spent a lifetime serving humanity in various community activities. He always gave of himself – when and wherever he was needed. Rudy departed this life on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at home in Austin, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Percy C. Rudison, Sr., his brothers, Clair Eugene Rudison and James Lester, and, his son, Pierre D. Rudison. He leaves to cherish in his memory: his wife, Rosario M. Rudison; his mother, Georgianna Lavender Rudison; four children, Ann C. Rudison Evans, John J. Rudison, Michelle P. Rudison Bowens, and Karl A. Rudison, Sr.; 11 grandchildren, Rodney J. Evans, Rose F. Evans Tyre, Raynelle L. Evans Muldrow, Keysha Rudison, Tisha Rudison, Nichole Bowens, Nathaniel Bowens, Nicholas Bowens, Karl Rudison, Jr., Kamryn Rudison, Pierre Rudison, Jr.; 15 great grandchildren, Aeron Alexander, Sade Law Evans, Leilani Evans, Lateasha Petty, Javon Tyre, Rachelle Evans, Katherine Muldrow, Raelyn Muldrow, Lasette Muldrow, Nelson Muldrow, Edward Rodriquez, Rodrick Rodriquez, Jr., Jonathan Rudison, Porche Rudison and Pierre Rudison, III; two brothers, Donald Rudison, Allan Rudison; one sister, Jo Ann Jackson.
