Harry Alfred Hamilton Jr. went to spend eternity with the Lord on Sunday, December 23. Harry was born on January 11, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harry and Louise Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Sara Hamilton Chamorro; a grandson, Burlen Ross; and son-in-law, Bruce Williams.

Harry is survived by his wife, Betty E. Hamilton whom he married on August 16, 1945. To this union was born ten children: Thomas (Jean) Hamilton of Idaho, Carol (Wayne) Mazy of Tyler, Texas, Sara Hamilton Chamorro, Liz Hamilton of Van Couver, Washington, Jo (Steve) Ostring of Ankeny, Iowa, Ruth Williams of Waterloo, Iowa, Mary (Bud) Ross of Pleasant Hill, Iowa, Loretta Alderman of Ankeny, Iowa, Andrew (Linda) Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida, and Dale (Astrid) Hamilton of Gainesville, Georgia. They were blessed with 26 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, David (Anita) Hamilton of Virginia; his brother, Dewayne (Carol) Hamilton of Missouri and a sister, Mary Fear of Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

Harry worked very hard and provided for his family working many different jobs including 20 years for the Hoover Company and 13 years for Ace Air Tools.

His passion in life was to share with everyone that he met that you can know for sure that you will spend eternity in heaven with Christ. He had a love for music, electronics and traveling.

We will miss you Dad.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 28 at 3 p.m. at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa followed by a dinner with the family.
