John T. Hutson, 86, passed away December 28, 2012 at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown.

John was born December 7, 1926 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Fern (Knapp) and Forest Hutson. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. John worked at Armstrong Tire and Rubber for 43 years before retiring. He enjoyed renovating houses, gardening and taking long Sunday drives with his beloved canine companion, Rosie.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Debbie Abrahams of Cumming, Iowa and Essie (Jack) Arthur of Prole, Iowa; son, Stephen (Glenda) Hutson of El Cajon, California; grandchildren, Lara (Dave) Catton, Karl (Jamie) Hutson, Chris (Michelle) Hutson, and Sarah Hutson; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Albert (Pam) Hutson.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fern and Forest Hutson; son, Ronald Hutson; son-in-law, Mike Abrahams; and his siblings.

Memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Hamilton's near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association or the Animal Rescue League.
