MRS. THOMPSON’S RITES DUE FRIDAY

Marshall Rebekah lodge No. 40 will participate in services for Mrs. Henrietta Thompson, who died Monday morning at Evangelical Deaconess hospital, at 2 p.m. Friday at Pursel funeral home. Dr. Pieter Smit will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside. Mrs. Thompson was born May 15, 1861, in Ogle county, Illinois, the daughter of Christian and Johana Kroener. With her parents she came overland to the Melbourne neighborhood as a small child. She lived also on a farm near Laurel before marrying W. A. Thompson on Aug. 22, 1883, in Marshalltown. Mr and Mrs. Thompson lived on farms in Timber Creek and Liscomb townships until 1905 when they retired and moved to Marshalltown. Mr. Thompson died Nov. 16, 1936. Survivors include two sons, W. B. Thompson, Chillicothe, Mo., and M. F. Thompson, Marshalltown, three daughters, Jennie Thompson and Mrs. Ann JaQuay of Davenport and Mrs. George J. Hawley, Marshalltown; 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
