MRS. BERT EVERIST, FORMERLY OF CITY, DIES IN SAN DIEGO

Mrs. Bert Everist, a former resident of Marshalltown, died Sunday morning at her home in San Diego, Calif., according to word received here Monday. Mrs. Everist was born Winona George, July 2, 1875, in Boone county, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. George, pioneer residents of this city. The family moved to Marshalltown soon after her birth. She was married to Ezekiel Bertel Everist at the Baptist parsonage in this city, May 25, 1895. Mr. and Mrs. Everist made their home in this city until 1935, when they moved to California. Preceding her in death were an infant daughter, a son, W. B. Everist, five sisters and a brother. Surviving are the widower, and five children. The latter are Mrs. J. W. Strike and Dr. C. B. Everist of Marshalltown, Mrs. Charles Morley of Sioux City, Roy Everist of Mason City, Rev. Gerald Everist of Pitkin, La., and Maj. Guy Everist of Lincoln, Neb. A brother, W. A. George of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Robert Myers, Des Moines, Mrs. Ray Luther, Rippey, and Mrs. Harry Dann, Des Moines, and 18 grandchildren, also survive.
