MRS. HARRY GIBSON DIES IN HOSPITAL; SERVICES SATURDAY

Mrs. Harry E. Gibson, 65, LeGrand, died Wednesday afternoon at Evangelical Hospital where she had been a patient since July 17. She had been in failing health since suffering a stroke a year ago. Born Aug. 15, 1888, Irene Keen, the daughter of N. O. and Virginia Poineer Keen at LeGrand, she attended schools of that community and grew to womanhood there. On June 26, 1908, she was married to Harry Gibson in Marshalltown. The couple engaged in farming in the LeGrand vicinity and she had been a lifelong resident of this county. MRS. GIBSON was a member of the LeGrand Friends Church, WFMS, the Order of the Eastern Star No. 259, LeGrand Literary and Musical Clubs. Preceding her in death were her parents and three brothers. SURVIVING are the widower, two sons and a daughter, Leland Gibson and Mrs. Ward Buchanan of LeGrand and Eugene Gibson of Tama. Also surviving are two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Clyde Hoover, Mrs. William Hoover and Thomas Keen, all of LeGrand, along with 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be at the LeGrand Friends Church at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in charge of the Rev. Taylor Guthrie. Burial will be in the Friends cemetery west of LeGrand. Friends may call at the Estel-Perrin funeral home until 9 a.m., Saturday.
