ALVERTA WHALEY, LONG AN INVALID, DIES HERE

Alverta Fay Whaley, 59, invalid daughter of E. E. Whaley, 403 West State street, died Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 at her home. She had been an invalid for the past 22 years and death was caused by heart disease. Miss Whaley was born on Oct. 23, 1886 in Des Moines the daughter of E. E. and Emma Whaley. When a few months old she came with her parents to Marshall county and 27 years ago they moved to Marshalltown. She is survived by her father, and one sister, Pearle Whaley, who also lives at the family home. Her mother died in 1920 and a brother, Floyd, died in 1924. Miss Whaley was a birthright member of the Friends church where services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of the pastor, Orval H. Cox. Burial will be in Riverside.
