RUTH R. LANE DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Ruth R. Lane, 79, died at the home of her brother, Eli Lane, two miles south of this city, at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday after an illness that had lasted since last fall. She was born Oct. 17, 1860, in Grantham, England, a daughter of John and Elizabeth Lane. She came to American when a child, making her home with Col. and Mrs. T. D. McElroy. After their death she continued to live in this city. She gave magnetic messages for many years. Miss Lane is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Alice Peterson of Granville, N.D., Mrs. Naomi Williams, Levi and Eli Lane, all of Marshalltown. Funeral services will be held at the Estel funeral home at 2 p.m. Thursday in charge of Rev. P. G. Dennis. Burial will be in Riverside.
