Mildred Hardwick, 79, of 2024 E. 42nd St. died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Des Moines general Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home, and burial will be in Ankeny Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hardwick was born in Louisiana, Mo., and lived in Des Moines most of her life. She retired after 35 years with Meredith Publishing Co.

Among survivors are a son, James of Des Moines; her mother, Ulea Warcheck of Marshalltown; two brothers, Albert Martin and Arthur Martin, both of Tama; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
