LISCOMB MAN DROPS DEAD IN POOL HALL

Liscomb---(Special)---William G. Mock, 56, of Liscomb dropped dead following a heart attack in the Liscomb pool hall Tuesday evening. Mock had been bailing hay all afternoon at the James Grammar farm near Bethel Grove and just before his death had walked down town from the William Valentine home, where he lived, to buy some meat for supper. The two men kept bachelor quarters. Mock had stopped in the pool hall to ask Valentine what meat he should buy and was just leaving when he fell dead near the door. He was born Sept. 5, 1883 at Polo, Ill., the son of Martin H. and Martha Mock, and was one of six children. His brothers and sisters are Harry Mock, living east of Liscomb; Mrs. L. E. Simcox of Robertson, Mrs. Julia Huhn of Gilman, Mrs. Jack Doud of Ferguson and Miss Stella Mock of Frederick, Md. When Mock was a year old his family moved to Spencer and then to Gilman where he grew up. In recent years he had lived in Conrad, coming to Liscomb a year ago. He was a tiler by trade. Mock never married. Funeral arrangements await word from the sister in Maryland, but burial will be at Gilman.
