MAUDE MCBROOM DIES AT IOWA CITY

Prof. Maude McBroom, 65, of Iowa City, former resident of Marshalltown, died Thursday afternoon at her Iowa City home. Graveside services will be held at Riverside at 1:30 p.m. Monday. Miss McBroom was born Oct. 18, 1882,, at Ellsworth, the daughter of L. A. and Lucy Glasbey McBroom, who were pioneer residents of Marshalltown. She lived here several years. She began her teaching career as an instructor in the State University of Iowa elementary school in 1916. In the following years she served on state educational programs of Nebraska, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Arizona, Wisconsin and Indiana. Surviving is one sister, Mrs. A. A. Bishop of Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Iowa City Presbyterian church.
