W. C. O'BRYON, 68, RETIRED BUSINESS MAN, DIES AT LISCOMB

Liscomb---(Special)---William C. O'Bryon, 68, retired business man of Liscomb, died suddenly after a heart attack shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday. He had been in his usual good health until about an hour before his death when he was taken ill. Mr. O'Bryon was born at Antigo, Wis., Feb. 14, 1874, the son of George and Elizabeth O'Bryon. He was one of a family of seven children. The O'Bryon family moved to Marshall county in 1875, the father being one of the early day blacksmiths in Liscomb. The O'Bryon family orchestra was widely known thruout the Liscomb area in the '70's and '80's. W. C. O'Bryon learned the barber business and operated shops at Eldora, Conrad and Albion. On Oct. 16, 1896, he was married to Miss Ollie Scott. For several years he operated a barber shop at Liscomb, later moving to a farm in the region. In 1931 Mr. O'Bryon established a hatchery at Liscomb which he operated for 10 years, selling his interests to his son, Cliff O'Bryon, in 1941 and retiring. Surviving are his widow and two children, Mrs. John Gifford and Cliff O'Bryon, both of Liscomb; three brothers, George O'Bryon of Dickens and J. L. and M. C. O'Bryon, both of Marshalltown, and four grandchildren. W. C. O'Bryon was a member of the Liscomb Christian church. Funeral services for Mr. O'Bryon will be held at 3:30 Friday afternoon at the Liscomb Christian church, preceded by a prayer service at 2:45. Burial will be in the Liscomb cemetery. The body will be removed from the Estel funeral home in Marshalltown to the residence in Liscomb Thursday afternoon.
