WILLIAM KELLY DIES OF STROKE EARLY MONDAY

William H. Kelley, 71, a resident of State Center for the last two years, died at Evangelical Deaconess hospital at 1:40 a.m. where he was taken Sunday afternoon following a stroke. HE WAS BORN July 12, 1880 near Galesburg, Ill., the son of Mr. and Mrs. N. C. Kelly. He grew to manhood and received his education in that community. While still a young man the family moved to Nebraska where he was married to Mable Logan in 1900. THE COUPLE farmed there prior to coming to Marshall county in 1920. Mrs. Kelley died in February, 1946, and he had made his home with a daughter in State Center for the last two years. SURVIVING ARE 10 children, Sterling and William of Lance Creek, Wyo., Loris of Imperial, Neb., Russell Kelley, Mrs. Ralph Stanley, and Mrs. C. P. Stanley, Mrs. Wayne Stanley, and Mrs. Isaac Taft all of Marshalltown, Mrs. Frank Lang of Fairborn, Ohio and Mrs. Carl Williams of State Center. Also suviving are 22 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, four half-brothers and four half-sisters. He was preceded in death by one brother. Services will be at the Estel funeral home at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday in charge of the Rev. A. O. Bishop. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery.
