MRS. AMY EWALT, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES ON SUNDAY

Liscomb---(Special)---Services for a former Marshall county resident, Mrs. Amy Ewalt Hayes, who died at her home in Des Moines Sunday will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Dunn funeral home in Des Moines. Born in 1877, at Ferguson, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. K. Ewalt, she would have been 75 Thursday. Her family lived for many years in the Liscomb community. Following her marriage to Roy Hayes at State Center, they lived at Clemons and Gilmore City before moving to Des Moines, where he operated a garage until his death 10 years ago. She is survived by five sons, Albert, Arthur and Robert of Des Moines; Kenneth in Kansas and Dale of Mason City; a daughter, Mrs. Doris Dobble of Red Wing, Minn.; four half-sisters, Mrs. Fred Drake and Mrs. Ivan Nelson, both of Union, Mrs. Rebecca Meyers of Ames and Mrs. Viola Yenney of Mount Carroll, Ill. Six half-brothers, Will Ewalt of Green Mountain; Burley Ewalt of Harmony, Minn., Randall Ewalt of Liscomb, Marion Ewalt of Freeport, Ill., Clarence Ewalt of Marshalltown and Roy Ewalt of Savana Ill.; two stepsisters, Mrs. Katherine Salt and Mrs. Grace Campbell of Savana, and three stepbrothers, William Roberts of Savana, John Roberts of St. Anthony and George Roberts of Ames.
