MRS. HAYES IS DEAD AT 68; LAMOILLE BURIAL

Mrs. Mamie Hayes, 68, 310 E. Linn St., died at University Hospital in Iowa City at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. She had been a patient there since Aug. 25. Born in Cedar County, Mo., Sept. 23, 1885, the daughter of William and Fanny Catron Vaughan, she married Aldus Hayes Aug. 26, 1933. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and the Marshalltown SOS. Surviving are the widower, a son, Chester Hamilton of Phoenix, four daughters, Mrs. Ray Johnston, Des Moines, Mrs. Grant Forrest, Colorado Springs, Mrs. F. J. Carkhuff, The Dales, Ore., Mrs. Charles House, Kansas City, Kan., five sisters, Mrs. Ross Harris, Mrs. Mabel Ryder, Mrs. Nellie Gordon, Mrs. Eddie Ray and Mrs. Maude Swearingren, a brother, Carl Vaughan, 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. The body will be at the Avey Funeral Home until 11 a.m. Wednesday and will then be taken to the First Assembly of God Church for services at 2 p.m., with the Rev. M. E. Parlotz in charge. Burial will be in LaMoille Cemetery.
