Nelson Hilsabeck, 70, of Toledo, a former Marshall county resident, died at his home at 9:25 p.m. Friday. He had been in failing health for three years and death was attributed to complications of diabetes. Nelson Robert Hilsabeck was born March 17, 1877, a mile southwest of Ferguson, the son of Martin and Isabel Fiscus Hilsabeck. He grew to manhood in this neighborhood and moved with his parents to Marshalltown. On Dec. 24, 1902, he was married to Myrtle Jones. They lived on a farm near Ferguson until they moved to Toledo a year and a half ago. Mr. Hilsabeck was active in the Pentecostal church. He served as pastor of the Maxwell church for a number of years and a a pastor of the Toledo church until his health failed. Surviving besides the widow is one sister, Mrs. John Hanson of Waterloo. The body is at the Estel funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements.
