MRS. HILSABECK DIES IN CALIFORNIA; WAS COUNTY PIONEER

Ferguson---(Special)---Friends have learned of the death of Mrs. Lydia Hilsabeck Hooven, last survivor of a pioneer Marshall county family, July 6 at the home of a grandson, Alva Hooven, Tujunga, Calif. Burial took place there Tuesday. Mrs. Hooven, 90, was the daughter of Elias and Saluda Rickabaugh Hilsabeck, who were among the first settlers in the county. She was born west of Ferguson and was married to Charles Hooven Feb. 20, 1879. She had lived in the Ferguson area all her life except six years when she and her husband were in Chicago. A year and a half ago she went to her grandson's home. She is survived by a son, Merrill, who lives in New Jersey, two grandsons, Alva and Carroll, both of Tujunga, and several nieces and nephews in Marshall county. Her husband died in 1914 and a son Arthur, died several years ago.
