M. W. MCKIBBEN, PROMINENT RETIRED FARMER, DIES HERE

M. W. McKibben, 206 North Nineteenth street, prominent retired farmer of Taylor township, died at his home at 3 p.m. Wednesday. He had been ill since July and had been in failing health for the past five years. He was born Dec. 26, 1871, two and one-half miles northeast of Albion, a son of Joseph and Cynthia [Lhamon] McKibben. He married Exie L. Koontz March 15, 1893. Mr. and Mrs. McKibben lived on the McKibben farm eight miles north of Marshalltown from 1906 until 1943 when they moved to Marshalltown, after selling their farm. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary March 15, 1943. Surviving are Mrs. McKibben, two sons and two daughters, Harold E. McKibben and Mrs. Arthur H. Schiebel of Marshalltown, Neal L. McKibben of Clemons and Mrs. Donald D. Palmer of Albion; two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. J. L. Arney of Marshalltown, Mrs. Guy Bennett of Almyra, Ark., Frank McKibben of Longmont, Calif., Riley McKibben of Liscomb, Monroe McKibben of Madelia, Minn., and Ed McKibben of Phillips, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Estel funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside.
