RAY ROY FINDERS DIES AT FERGUSON

Ferguson---(Special)---Ray Roy Finders, widely known Ferguson barber and old time baseball player, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday at his home here following an illness of a year's duration. Mr. Finders was born in Gentry county, Mo., Sept. 7, 1887, the youngest son of the late James and Susannah [Hilsabeck] Finders, and came to this county with his parents as a child. In his younger days he was active in semi-pro baseball for many years and spent practically all of his life in or near Marshall county. He began barbering with his brother Oliver, in 1905. He then barbered at Laurel and Baxter, later settling in Ferguson where he had since made his home. He married Maude May Davis, Sept. 20, 1911. Surviving are Mrs. Finders, two sons, Wendell Davis Finders of the army air force at Harlington, Texas, and Wallace Clayton Finders, at home; five brothers, Charles, Oliver, Lloyd, Boston and Robert Finders, all of Ferguson, and three sisters, Mrs. Elma King of Ferguson, Mrs. Emma Sult of Gilman and Mrs. Anna Gummert of Marshalltown. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Oscar and a sister, May. He was a member of the Ferguson Christian church where funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in charge of Rev. P. G. Dennis of Marshalltown. Burial will be in the Timber Creek cemetery. The body will remain at the Estel funeral home in Marshalltown until Friday noon.
