Secretary of C. A. Dunham Company Passes in New Rochelle
Emmet G. Beeson, of New York City and New Rochelle, N.Y., secretary of the C. A. Dunham company, died Sunday at a New Rochelle hospital after a short illness, it became known here Tuesday. Announcement of Mr. Beeson's death was made by F. E. Schmidt, a vice president of the company, of Michigan City, Ind., who received the word while in Marshalltown on business. The cause of death was not stated and the message was brief. Later Mr. Schmidt was advised that funeral services were to be held from the home in New Rochelle at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. GREW UP WITH COMPANY Mr. and Mrs. Dunham were leaving Chicago by airplane to attend the funeral, Mr. Schmidt said. Mr. Beeson was probably the oldest member of the Dunham staff, having grown up with the company. He was in the employ of Mr. Dunham almost from the birth of the enterprise in Marshalltown years ago. He rose to the office of secretary, a position he had held for many years, with offices in New York City. He had grown to manhood in Marshalltown, which was his home for many years and he had many close friends still residing in this city. SON OF GENERAL BEESON Mr. Beeson was a son of Gen. B. A. Beeson, a pioneer of Marshall county, for years quartermaster of the Iowa Soldiers home, county treasurer and member of the county board of supervisors and one time treasurer of the state. He is survived by his widow and daughter, both of New Rochelle. Three sisters, Mrs. J. R. Hill, Miss Martha Beeson and Mrs. Mae Coffin, also survive.
